Design India Collective has its roots in a long-standing commitment to quality design education. The journey began in 2009 with the founding of Genius Nestlings, an initiative dedicated to mentoring young students interested in art and design careers at a time when structured design coaching in India was still evolving.
Over the years, the institute built a strong reputation for deeply personalised mentoring, strong fundamentals, and consistent results. Students coached under this framework went on to secure admissions to leading design colleges in India and abroad, developing not only portfolios and exam success but also clarity and confidence in their creative paths.
In 2023, the institute evolved and was renamed Design India Collective (DIC)—a name that reflects its matured philosophy: a collaborative, mentor-led space where design education is approached with depth, purpose, and long-term vision.
Today, Design India Collective continues to build on this legacy, having coached students for design careers since 2009, with proven outcomes across national and international design institutions.

Mr. Nitin Agrawal
Design India Collective is founded and led by Mr. Nitin Agrawal, an art and design educator with over 25 years of experience mentoring students for competitive design education in India and abroad. His journey is marked by exceptional achievements—securing All India Rank 1 in the 1997 Sir J.J. School of Art entrance exam, being one of only three students selected nationwide for the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda, and later becoming the All-India Runner-Up for the INLAKS Scholarship in 2004.
These experiences shaped his deep understanding of what design schools truly seek, beyond rote learning or exam techniques. As a mentor, Mr. Agrawal emphasizes strong foundations in observation, thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, while helping each student discover their unique design voice.
At Design India Collective, he remains closely involved in guiding students and fostering a supportive learning culture.
